I've been there when they had a table saved in the south corner. Not really sure how you make that happen, but you might want to call them.
The food was phenomenal!! One of the best burgers we've had. Good drinks and friendly service. Highly recommend stopping here when in Ames!
I was a little disappointed here. I ordered the Brazilian burger and expected some awesomeness cause of the hype that they had the best burger. It was sloppy, heavily under seasoned and they forgot my mushrooms. I was told it was going to be a little spicy but nahh. It needed Salt and pepper. My friend complained about her breakfast lacking some seasoning too so I know it wasn’t just me. It was probably just a one time thing but I’m not gonna risk the possibility of going through that lack of seasoning again. The mimosa was good and my server so thank God for that.
Looking for craft beer/cocktails and good food in campustown? Look no further, it's a cozy spot with friendly staff. Known for their long islands a for good reason
So I'm going to give this place four stars because although the food and service was fine, (not fantastic, but fine) the bathrooms were HORRIBLE. Tiny, low ceiling, gap in-between the door and the wall, and my biggest complaint, the SMELL. They need some air freshener at LEAST, if not renovate the whole thing. Other than that, food was fine, if a little greasy. Service was pretty good, fast, server was nice, splitting a Lassie in half and making each half a different flavor for the kids who couldn't agree. Would recommend for someone who wants a quick meal but not fast food.
A great place, friendly staff, made so many good memories.
Excellent burger. I had the $4 20oz beer of the day and a Brazilian burger. It was so tasty that I didn't need to add anything (like ketchup). Very fresh bun. Overall a 5 star burger and easy to see that it's one of the 10 finalist for best burger in Iowa.
Cafe Beaudelaire (or just "Cafe B") is a small bar/restaurant on the corner of Welch and Lincoln directly across from the ISU campus. Cafe B tends to attract a more mature crowd compared to most places found in campus town. There is a decent drink and food menu, and everything on the menu is quite good. My favorites are the beef empanadas and the Brasilian burger. The famous Brasilian fries are just your typical steak cut fries, but served with mayo. Don't worry, the fries also come with ketchup too for those looking to have American fries. What we love about Cafe B the most is their weekend brunch menu. It's nothing fancy, but everything is just made so well. Service is always great, but parking can be an issue given Cafe B's location.
This place is just awesome! They're long islands are out of this world and I highly recommend their garlic spaghetti! The atmosphere is welcoming and warm. Perfect place to catch up with friends or date night.
The best place for brunch, hands down!! Love the yucca fries so much I could eat them all day every day!!!
Best vegetarian selection in Ames! Delicious foods crafted and served to perfection by a friendly and diverse staff of young, worldly individuals that help you feel the warmth and welcome one comes to love in a micro-city such as Ames. I go here often, and suggest you do the same!
Nice little place to go get a delicious burger or sandwich. Edit: Had a very long wait for food the 2nd visit and ended up leaving with no food on the 3rd visit. Parking is a challenge.
Hands down the best burger I have had. My choice is the Spanish burger which can be spiced up with jalapenos. Also five stars for the ambience. Wish this becomes a chain, but maybe that will destroy the quality and taste. If you are in Ames, don't miss the burgers here.
Great food and drink. Awesome atmosphere!! Recommend the Cuban sandwich and black bean soup
Great food and great environment! If the weather's nice, go for the seating outside on the sidewalk... very relaxing and there's shade from the trees above. The burgers and sandwiches are great, as well as the fresh fruit drinks and alcoholic drinks.
Breathtaking! I had a most enjoyable experience at Cafe Beaudelaire. The atmosphere was quaint yet cozy, and unlike most eateries, it was not too unbearably cold, making it very pleasant to remain in the same spot long enough to finish a meaningful conversation. The food was delicious, to say the least. Their speciality is hamburgers, and I must say, it is interesting that a Brazilian restaurant produces American delicacies superior to that of most American restaurants (step it up, McDick's). To anyone looking for a memorable lunch or dinner experience, Cafe Beaudelaire is the place for you! Get there immediately!
Great take on a familiar style. Has some food you wouldn't normally see but they excel at making little changes to things like their burgers that set them apart. Their long islands are unbeatable too.
Small cozy place with lots of character and AMAZING FOOD! decided to try their burger because it was rated high and it was well worth it.
Best burger award 2018 - & still going!! So awesome!
Finally a place with good coffee in the USA. Generally not happy with American coffee but this is good. Food is also nice. Brazilian and Cuban sandwiches with authentic taste. Great service as well. Place is decorated with currency (notes) from all over the world. Interesting concept that keeps you entertained. Well worth a visit while in Ames. Just across the street from the university. Try it and you won’t be disappointed.
Amazing coffee. Amazing food. Great burgers and brunch items. I have never had anything there I didn't like. It can be a busy place, but it's worth it.
Gyro and Long Island, the best you can get!
Truly the home of Iowa's best burger. The one I had was delicious. Definitely recommend!Tiramisu was really good, but the portion size was extremely small for the high price.
This place is very close to my University. I have gone there after giving exam with some of my friends. There are lots of books there beside the table. So even if you don't have company you can enjoy the books. I have ordered chocolate confusion cake. And the dessert was real good. If you love chocolate it is a must try for you. The dessert is so delicious. I loved it.
I've had amazing food here about 5 years ago and recently okay food.
One of the best places in Ames. Brazilian style food . Has good vegetarian options. Of course meat options are amazing.
We arrived at 430 and did not get out food till 6. We heard a loud crash in the kitchen and then 30min later a different waitress came and said we have had technical difficulties in the kitchen. So we was like what the crash in the kitchen we heard and she said that and other difficulties. We finally got our food and ate 10 minutes later my 12 year old is sick and puking. I would never recommend this place to anyone. Beware in the restrooms cause there are holes in the wall you you see completely though.
The Brazilian Bauru was delicious! Just like it was when I first had it twenty years ago as a kid. It's an extremely filling and very flavorful meal for about $10. The atmosphere is hip and laid back. Good place for a late lunch or weekend brunch.
Absolutely delicious food. Everything I've tried from this menu (every item from the non-vegetarian side of the menu and several of the vegetarian options) has been amazing. It's hard to even pick a favorite. I personally love the gyro and the beirut. A lot of my friends' favorite item is the garlic spaghetti. If you want a really cheap delicious meal though, order the chicken straps from the appetizer menu. They come with fries and the garlic aioli. The menu is pretty small, but there's something for everyone, including sandwiches, pasta, burgers, chicken and more. They also serve brunch and drinks. The college students love the Long Islands. They're about the size of 3 regular drinks, made with good ingredients, not a mix, and pretty inexpensive. They have a full drink menu, though, including wine local beers. The place is very small and could use some repairs, but us very "Ames" in that way.
Great service and some really unique and tasty food
The long islands here are phenomenal. As well as the fries. Great friendly service. It can be very busy in here and is not a large location. But well worth the wait. The food is always exceeds expectations and is made fresh. Works for both a drink to start your night or an actual sit down dinner they fit both cases very well. We will continue to come here as long as we are in Ames. Also worth noting they don’t have a parking lot but there is city of Ames lots just a block away.
Excellent food, drinks, and service.
Food was amazing as always. I’m glad that they gave me more fries then usual, that use to be my only complaint (since they up-charge). My server was also dressed like a mermaid. Bonus!
This place is a local staple. Small, but delicious food every time. My all time favorite is the iron vegetarian. This is our first time getting food to go and their new outdoor pick up window rocks!
Love the atmosphere here. Feels like a "local bar". It's clean, busy and good food & drinks.
One of the best burgers around. Spanish burger and make sure you try the mayo with fries. Incredible!
Nice cozy restaurant. Drink was decently heavy on the booze. Definitely get the yucca fries.
I was missing a fry and I thought the bauru was very bland. The lettuce has become brown.
The food was good, and the coffee wasn’t bad. Although it was really expensive. One beef empanada was 5 dollars. Also everything had a ton of oil on it, the burger was literally dripping with oil. The fries where great though, just sad you only get 8 of them.
Great place! The food was excellent and service prompt and friendly. The fried yucca was surprisingly flavorful.
A favorite place to go even before they won the "Best Burger in Iowa". Especially good if you ask for your burger to be made spicy with the Brazilian peppers!
Good food, Brazilian burger voted the best in the state. Small place and it was pretty jam packed. Kind of dark, could use some more lights. Prices were a little high, and the waitress took a while to get to us, but it could have been because they were busy.
Even though it was a bit crowded we got our food in a good amount of time and our drinks were never empty! Great place to try new things
Really good. Fast delivery! 👌🏻👌🏻
Cuban sandwich was awesome, good selection of beers in tap too.
We read the reviews for the Cafe Beaudelaire which set our expectations very high. I am pleased to report that this place exceeded our expectations. The bloody mary was very good, a little pricey but very good. And for $7 they should at least let you choose your beer chaser. The burger was fantastic!!! Very good quality meat and none of those gristle chunks that usually accompany less quality beef. We will definitely return the next time we are near Ames. Thank you!
I've heard nothing but positive words about the food here, but the long islands are why I go! Cafe B is right off Welch and is super easy to get to. Great vibes and great drinks - especially on Thursdays when drinks are cheap!
I find the food here delicious. As someone who lived in Brazil for a while, I couldn't find anything that looked/tasted like Brazilian food. They definitely took some liberties with the feijao and the bauru, however, they are really good anyway. Sometimes, they serve empanadas which are pretty good. I didn't rate them 5 stars because my wife, who is a vegetarian, mentioned the variety of dishes was not great.
The food was good! Portion size was quite large. Worth a trip.
Delicious food, incredible service and helpful and nice staff!! Thank you very much for everything!! Both of the burgers and the chocolate raspberry martinis were superb!! ❤️ Definitely the best burgers in Iowa 🤤
Food and service was great. Cuban pulled pork was excellent.
